HARRISONBURG -- With white out conditions and dangerous roads, plow trucks were hard at work cleaning up the mounds of snow.
Jose Munoz is the owner of J&D Landscape. He said all day on Wednesday was a struggle.
"Once it gets to this magnitude, it's hard to keep control of the storm. I mean it's basically the storm dictates what happens, not us," said Munoz.
His company plows more than 100 business properties in the area, including the parking lot at Regal Cinemas. On Wednesday, you could barely see the lot, even after all the plowing.
"We already plowed this property twice. We did it last night around 11 o'clock, and then we plowed again this morning around 5 o'clock, and of course we're back now again and we didn't realize we have about seven inches on the ground."
He says the amount of snow is what makes it so challenging.
"Some years back we had a snow storm like this, but this one is so hard because it's coming down so fast, and so it's hard for us to keep up with it."
He said because the snow was wet and heavy, it made it even more difficult to plow.
Although it's not easy to clean, Munoz said it was a great day for his business. Munoz said his workers worked hard so businesses could start to open Wednesday night.
As long as everything's plowed, people will now have places to park.
