Chrissie Brasswell is choosing the perfect Christmas Tree for her new home.
"We needed one with strong branches because we have heavy ornaments and we wanted one super tall because we have very high ceilings," Brasswell said.
For Brasswell's family, it's tradition to put up the Christmas tree right after thanksgiving.
"We are gonna get home put the lights on it. We got all kind of fun food and we are gonna make hot chocolate and decorate it," Brasswell said.
Jim Culpepper at Evergreen Tree Farms said it's also tradition for them to start selling on Black Friday.
"We had a good opening weekend , we sold approximately 150 trees a day," Culpepper said.
He said it's not only people from the valley who are shopping at the farm. But also from all over the country.
"We have sent trees all the way to Florida believe it or not. One tree at a time," he said.
They have more than 25,000 and they work year-round to keep them growing.
The Evergreen Tree Farm Manager said for every tree cut this year, they'll plant a new one next Spring
For Brasswell's daughter, Chloe Bruce, this is her first time at a tree farm.
"We were so happy we got to pick our tree here because there are so many selections," Bruce said.
Something Brasswell missed from living in the valley.
"They've have had a real tree before but we've gotten out of parking lots so this is way more exciting," Brusswell said.
Culpepper said that's what he likes about shopping at farms.
"To me the real benefit to coming here to get your Christmas tree is you spend time together as a family and they only got one thing on their mind when they come here and that's finding the perfect Christmas tree," Culpepper said.
For Chloe, the Christmas tree is very important.
"When it's Christmas we usually gather around the Christmas tree when we are opening presents and all of that so we are around it a lot," Chloe said.
Culpepper said the two weekends after thanksgiving are usually the busiest at the farm.
He said they usually sell 250 trees a day. But they're also open seven days a week.
