RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Director Steven Spielberg's movie about Abraham Lincoln that was filmed in Virginia is set to open in November.
The Virginia Film Office says "Lincoln" will be released in theaters Nov. 9 and expand nationally on Nov. 16.
The film stars Daniel Day-Lewis as the president and Sally Field as Mary Todd Lincoln. Supporting actors include Tommy Lee Jones, James Spader and David Strathairn.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports (http://bit.ly/OmlFg3 ) that the production employed more than 400 Virginia crew members and staff as well as about 1,200 actors and extras.
The Virginia Film Office said that the production company spent $32.4 million in the state during filming and the economic impact for the Richmond and Petersburg areas was more than $64 million.
