HARRISONBURG,Va. (WHSV)-- A little after 7 p.m. on Tuesday, officers with the Harrisonburg Police Department responded to the 700 block of Hillmont Circle in reference a suspicious person in a vehicle.
At the scene, a Harrisonburg police officer followed the vehicle. After speaking with the female driver, it was apparent to the officer that alcohol was involved, the female then fled the scene of the traffic stop.
While fleeing the scene, the female struck another officer with her vehicle.
Officers with the Harrisonburg Police Department initiated a pursuit with the vehicle. The pursuit stopped at the intersection of Port Republic Road and Stone Spring Road in Rockingham County. The female driver was taken into custody without incident.
There was no damage to any property or vehicles as a result of the pursuit. The officer that was struck with the vehicle did not sustain any injuries.
Suzanne Jennifer Terschueren, is now facing charges of: DUI(misdemeanor), a refusal of breath test (misdemeanor), eluding police (felony), stalking (misdemeanor), and attempted capital murder (felony).
