SPOTSYLVANIA, Va. (AP) -- Authorities are investigating a police standoff that led to two Stafford County deputies and a Spotsylvania County man being shot.
The nearly 14-hour situation ended early Sunday after police to serve an emergency commitment order in Spotsylvania County.
Upon arrival, Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office Capt. Jeff Pearce said 61-year-old Michael Antosh barricaded himself and threatened deputies with a high-powered rifle.
The Free Lance-Star reports (http://bit.ly/15iMSWW) that Antosh later started firing from inside his residence and then came outside with a high-powered semi-automatic rifle and continued firing at deputies.
Following the shootout, the two deputies were transported to Mary Washington Hospital where they were treated and listed in stable condition.
Antosh was transported to the same hospital where he was undergoing surgery Sunday and was listed in critical condition.
