Improvements for Cyclists in Staunton

STAUNTON, Va. (WHSV)-- The recommendations to make the city more bike friendly include: more shared lanes for bikes and cars, educating the public on biker awareness, and encouraging more people to bike and walk to school or work. Bikers say they're eager to see the changes.

"Oh, well obviously I'm very pleased, I hope that we can quickly see some improvements for cyclists in the city. Cycling has health benefits, it has environmental benefits, and any city or county should be doing more to encourage it," said biker Lorne Stockman.

It's not known yet when the city will move forward with the recommendations.
