STAUNTON--- Candidates were hard at work rallying to get your vote come local elections in May. A City Council forum was held to discuss youth and sustainability in Staunton.

Our own Carly Stephenson was the moderator for the forum. The eight candidates for City Council were asked questions about the future of young people and sustainability. The goal was reaching out to the community and answering questions they want to know about.

"I think it's extremely important, as a Mary Baldwin student, because everything that goes on in the community directly effects the college that I go to. Unfortunately, I'm graduating in May, so I'm actually leaving the community again, but when I come back, I still want to be able to come back to the community that I loved," says Elizabeth Limbrick, a Mary Baldwin student and coordinator of the event.

Elections will be held May 6, 2014.
