STAUNTON, VA-- The Staunton City Council reviewed a report on the Ad Hoc Bicycle Advisory Committee. The report presented ideas on how to improve bicycle integration in Staunton.

We spoke with a cyclist who teaches bicycle riding for the Staunton Parks and Recreation. He said the report addresses the concerns he has about biking in Staunton. It would treat bicycles like cars, and applying driving laws to bikes. It also discusses improving infrastructure and offering education on safety. He says Staunton has the makings of a great place for cyclists.

"People around here are generally friendly, and I think that we all can appreciate trying to get along. I think that, if people get out there and they're educated, and they know how to handle their bikes, and they know how to be friendly in traffic, then we can all get along," says Travis Greibel, instructor for Enjoy Bicycle Ownership.
