Staunton Jams Draws Support for Local Businesses

STAUNTON, Va. (WHSV)-- Staunton Jams brings in lots of people from across the commonwealth. Workers say visitors to the musical festival end up helping the local economy by shopping and eating at restaurants downtown.

Some are hopeful events like this will continue to help downtown businesses grow.

"Lots of people are excited and I'm excited too, because of the music people brought down here, that increases the people, increases the business,' said Mausam Shrestha,'it brings people from outside town to town and they spend a lot of money in town and that helps our economics."

You still have time to head to Staunton for this labor day weekend. The event continues until 10 p.m. on August 30.
