Staunton Man Charged in Hit and Run

WAYNESBORO, Va. (WHSV) -- Waynesboro police arrested a Staunton man in connection with a hit and run incident in July.

Christopher Paxton Wray, 43, faces a single felony charge of hit and run involving injury or death or damage to attended property in the July 19 incident.

Police say Wray hit a 28-year-old Waynesboro man near Chauncey’s Smokehouse and Bar at about 12:30 a.m., leaving the man in critical condition. The victim is no longer hospitalized.

Wray surrendered himself at the police department on Wednesday afternoon.

He is free on a personal recognizance bond. No other charges are expected in this case.
