Rockingham County -- A Staunton man was killed in a crash on Interstate 81 early Saturday morning.

It happened around 1:15 a.m. on I-81 south near mile marker 254. That's just north of Harrisonburg.

Police say after impact, Crowe was hit by a 2007 Cadillac car driven by 46-year-old Edward Hutchins of Irvington, New Jersey.

Crowe died at the scene of the crash due to his injuries. State police say it was raining at the time of the accident and they are investigating the cause of the crash. The interstate was reduced to one lane while police were on scene.
