STAUNTON - The City of Staunton announces a suspension of parking fees at the Johnson Street and New Street parking garages, due to an anticipated winter storm.

Patrons may park in the garages at no charge beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 16, 2014. The suspension of fees will continue until the storm has ended and snow removal operations have been completed in the Downtown Central Business District.

Meanwhile, the City of Staunton has prohibited parking on Beverley Street, between Lewis Street and Market Street, from 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 16, 2014, until 4:00 p.m. on Monday, March 17, 2014.

“No Parking” signs have been posted on Beverley Street. The temporary parking restrictions are intended to facilitate the city’s snow removal operations, given the anticipated heavy snowfall.

Residents who ordinarily use on street parking in the Downtown Central Business District are reminded they may park in the Johnson Street and New Street parking garages at no charge.
