STAUNTON, Va. -- When Peggy Huffman won the $100,000 top prize in the July 4 Cash 5 drawing from the Virginia Lottery, she already knew what it was like. It had happened to her before!

In September of 2006, the Staunton woman won $100,000 in Cash 5 for the first time.

Nearly eight years later, she matched all five numbers with a ticket she bought at Staunton BP, 190 Jefferson Highway in Staunton. Those winning numbers were 14-17-25-30-32. She selected those numbers because she likes to play them.

She discovered she’d won again when she checked the winning numbers in the newspaper.

“I couldn’t believe it,” she told Lottery officials as she claimed her prize. “I was stunned!”

Huffman, who is retired, said she intends to pay bills with her winnings.

Cash 5 drawings are held daily at 1:59 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. The chances of winning the $100,000 top prize are 1 in 278,256.
