ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. (WHSV)-- These storms will generally weaken as they go over the mountains, but could still have the potential to be strong once they enter the Valley.
If our area does encounter a strong storm, the biggest storm threats will be damaging winds and downpours. Although this is unlikely, large hail and tornadoes cannot be ruled out. Stay weather aware today and have a way to get warnings.
There is another very slight chance for rain on Jul. 28, but after a cold front pushes through, you can expect cooler temperatures and a string of rain-free days.
Behind the system crossing over this weekend, expect a cool and comfortable string of days by the early to middle part of next week. highs look to be in the 70's in the middle of the week.
