HARRISONBURG,Va. (WHSV) -- The Harrisonburg Fire Department has been giving out free StoveTop FireStops and since our story aired most of them are gone.

Lieutenant of Fire Prevention Wanda Willis said the department only has 500 sets left.

These ones go on a regular hood or vent above your stove, so if flames hit a wick on the FireStop, an extinguisher will drop to put out the fire.

The fire department ran out of the kind that goes underneath a microwave.

"The phones were ringing off the hook and it was from people who were so appreciative of it. So your story being ran on TV and all in the media and the Facebook pages, really made an impact," said Willis.

If you live in Harrisonburg or Rockingham County and would like one, there's still time.
