Study: Cover When Sneezing to Avoid Spreading Germs

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -- The stuff you sneeze out into the air may be staying around a lot longer than previously thought.

A new MIT study says small droplets are the ones to blame that expose everyone to more germs, but you can cut down on the amount that you put out.

"The way people do it a lot is they use their elbow to cover but if you have a handkerchief or something that you can cover with might work a little better," said Dr. Stephen Phillips with Sentara RMH.
