HARRISONBURG, Va. Candidates for Attorney General in Virginia are campaigning around the state with less than a month until the election.
Democratic candidate Sen. Mark Herring stopped in Harrisonburg for a fundraiser on Sunday. Republican candidate Sen. Mark Obenshain visited Northern Virginia Sunday afternoon.
A University of Mary Washington survey showed that among likely voters, Obenshain leads the race with 42 percent.
"I'm accustomed to running campaigns like I'm behind and I'm not going to let up for an instant," said Obenshain.
However, among registered voters, Herring leads with 38 percent.
"It's really in our view, a very close race. That's why we are out trying to earn every single vote as we come toward the election on November 5th," said Herring.
The survey reports Republicans have won the last five elections for attorney general.
