STAFFORD, Va. (AP) -- A man wanted on charges of detonating pipe bombs at the Virginia homes of his ex-girlfriend and two investigators handling an indecent exposure case involving him has been captured in Montana.

The Stafford County Sheriff's Office says 25-year-old Laurence Alan Stewart II was taken into custody Thursday. He faces charges including attempted capital murder of a law enforcement officer, manufacture or possession of a weapon of terror and arson. The bombs exploded Tuesday in Stafford County and Fredericksburg. No one was injured.

Authorities say Stewart's vehicle was disabled after a chase that resulted in pipe bombs being thrown at pursuing law enforcement officers.

An armed Stewart left his car on foot before being apprehended.

Stewart already was wanted on charges including indecent exposure and violation of a protective order.
