STAUNTON, Va -- On Aug. 9, at about 4:00 p.m., Staunton Police responded to 113 Skyline Avenue for a welfare check. Responding officers found a dead man in the residence. The victim’s body was sent to the medical examiner in Roanoke. Preliminary indication of cause of death is a gunshot wound. No weapon was recovered at the scene.
