STAUNTON, Va. (WHSV) -- Thursday marked a busy day at the slopes right in your own backyard.
With kids off school for the day and some parents off work, many took the opportunity to have some fun in the snow.
A popular sledding spot was the big hill at Mary Baldwin College, which according to the experts, the kids who've been here for hours, improved with every trip down the hill.
A lot of people at the hill said sledding there is a snow day tradition, but like any hill, it's not quite as fun climbing back up as it is riding down.
Important to note, no sledding is allowed on the hill after dark.
