The Path is Being Paved for Bluestone Trail

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va (WHSV)-- This week crews finished a new bridge over Blacks Run, this is the second bridge installed on this mile long path.

The project on this trail is all part of phase one of the Bluestone Trail, which will be open for walkers, joggers, and bicyclists.

One neighbor who volunteers at the park says he hopes this will encourage more families to exercise together.

"It's a family thing. Kids can play on the playground castle over there, or they can walk with their parents. It's a family thing, and I see parents pushing their carriages all the time," said Louis Ziegler, who visits that park several times a week.

Park leaders say the goal is for the trail to eventually connect with other paths in the area.
