"We are a little bit more uptight. We are watching a lot more. We are watching our children more, we are watching our livestock and properties more. We used to be able to just hop in our car and go. Now we are carrying our firearms," said Tina Potter, a neighbor who lives near the shooting site.
His family just wants him to come back without a fight.
"I would like for him to give himself up and come in. I'm kindly making a plea to him before somebody else gets hurt," said Rickey Smith, father of Richard Clay Smith.
Deputies say if you see Richard Smith, you shouldn't approach him. Instead, call 911.
