Update: Moving Truck Crash Backs Up Traffic on Interstate


Late Thursday morning, an overturned moving truck caused traffic to backup on Interstate 81 in Harrisonburg near mile marker 247.

According to Virginia State Police the moving truck was driven by 48 year old Michael Brown.

Brown was driving Northbound on Interstate 81 when he fell asleep. He drove off the side of the road and his truck fell over.

No one was injured in the accident.

Brown was charged with reckless driving.


A tractor trailer crashed on Interstate 81 leaving a backup. It happened Monday shortly before noon just South of Exit 247-A in Harrisonburg in the north bound lanes. The north, right shoulder of the interstate is closed. We have a reporter on the scene and will update this story throughout the day.
