Two Miners Killed in West Virginia Mine

BOONE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Two people have died in an incident at a mine in Boone County.

Sources tell WSAZ two miners were killed during a roof fall at the Brody Mine in Wharton.

Family members tell WSAZ that Eric Legg is one of two miners who died late Monday night.

The roof fall was reported at the mine about 10 p.m. At the time, it was reported that two miners were trapped underground.

A spokesperson tells WSAZ inspectors and rescue crews have been on the site since the call came in. When our crew arrived at the mine ambulances, along with family members of the miners were there.

MSHA and the State Office of Miners Health Safety and Training are still on the scene.

No other information is being released at this time.
