HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -- The Veteran's of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 632 is celebrating, after receiving a generous donation from a local car dealership.

They now have a van to transport veterans back and forth to doctor's appointments.

The vehicle, donated by Keith's Auto Sales, is a 2008 Ford E-350. It's worth between $10,000 and $12,000.

VFW Post Commander Michel Nicolas presented owner Keith Knupp with a certificate of appreciation Wednesday.

"Hopefully they'll have a more comfortable ride, drive all over the state. They were saying they go all over Baltimore, Richmond, Salem, Martinsburg, West Virginia. So they put a lot of miles on their vehicle. The last one they said is approaching three-hundred thousand miles," said Knupp.

Veterans who are transported in the van to the VA hospitals are mostly those who are unable to drive on their own due to medical conditions.
