Va. Governor Announces New Round of Appointments

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- The McAuliffe administration has announced another round of appointments, including top posts at the Virginia Marine Resources Commission and the Department of Conservation and Recreation.

John M.R. Bull has been named commissioner of VMRC, which has oversight of key fisheries in the Chesapeake Bay, including the bay's signature crab and oyster stocks. Bull is a former newspaper reporter who joined the commission in June 2007. He most recently was the commission's spokesman and liaison with the General Assembly.

At Conservation and Recreation, Clyde Cristman is the new director. He had been on the Virginia Senate Finance Committee staff. He dealt with issues involving natural resources, agriculture and forestry, among others.

At the Department of Historic Resources, Julie Langan is the new director. She comes with much experience in historic preservation.
