Va. Woman Leaves about $800k to Library System

ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) -- A retired federal government attorney who died earlier this year left nearly $800,000 to public libraries in Arlington, a gift county officials believe is the largest single gift they have received.

The Washington Post ( ) reports Rosemarie G. Bowie was a frequent user of the county's Central Library. The former lawyer for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office died June 24 at the age of 76.
