Special agents with Virginia's Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control say they seized two copper stills, various spirits, mason jars and weapons from a Roanoke County man who they say was making illegal whiskey.
The ABC agents said Thursday they plan to charge 61-year-old James Ricky Lyle with a felony count of making whiskey.
Besides the stills, the agents said they also seized $11,000 in cash, four firearms and 200 gallons of illegal booze. The latter included brandy, corn whiskey and a sugar-based liquor with fruit.
A message left at a telephone listing for Lyle was not immediately returned on Thursday.
