Harrisonburg, Va. (WHSV) -- Local bikers are gearing up for a special event in our area, the Harries Roubaix.

Its ant even that brings together hundreds of people across the Valley.

The trail is more than eight miles long, from Court Square in downtown Harrisonburg to Singers Glenn.

Kyle Lawrence, who is on the board of the Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Coalition, said the event celebrates the rural roads and beautiful trails we have in the Valley.

"The bicycle is a really strong tool to build even stronger communities. So, as you get more people out of their cars and on their bikes, it can really change the community," said Lawrence.

The event starts at noon, this Saturday at Court Square.
