HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV)-- The three-day weekend is one of the busiest of the year for car dealers as new models hit the lots, and old ones are available at a discount.
This is true for many Valley dealerships.
The Honda dealership in Harrisonburg and workers say they've been busy this Labor Day, more than usual. In the auto industry, Labor Day is comparable to Black Friday for retail sales.
One family looking to take home a new car, told me they hope to get a deal.
"Trying to find a good labor day sale, either lease or buy a car, either way I am leaving here today with a new car today," said Max Rodriguez, who was shopping for a car.
Car dealers are happy with the holiday turnout.
"We've seen a big crowd this year, a little bit bigger than last year," said Bryan Horne, the general manager for Honda.
This month you should see more discounts on the 2014 models as dealerships make room for the 2015 models.
