Valley Man Reacts to Immigration Issue

BRIDGEWATER, Va. (WHSV)-- President Obama is calling the immigration crisis an "urgent humanitarian situation."

Earlier this week, the President announced he was asking congress for almost four billion dollars to increase border security among other things.

Owner of Francesco's restaurant Francisco Posada was at one time an undocumented immigrant. He came here from El Salvador with dreams of owning his own restaurant and says nothing would've stopped him from crossing the border. He thinks leaders like President Obama should focus on something else and the money should be put to better use.

"I think it's a waste of time because they're never going to stop illegal immigrants crossing the border. They're trying to cross the border because they're suffering," Posada said.

Posada moved to the U.S. in 1998 and only recently became a documented immigrant 8 years ago.

As for the money, Congress will have to vote on the President's request.
