Valley Town Helps Veterans

STAUNTON, Va. (WHSV) -- Hundreds of dollars are going to help veterans thanks to dozens of people in one valley town.

More than 700 people went to Kangaroo Express in Staunton to support veterans.

Money raised from the "Salute the Troops" event will go to charities including the USO, Red Cross, and U.S. Veterans Corp.

Veterans say it's good see people support what they fought for.

"Makes me feel good, I like to see these people come out, I'd like to see more people support it, but the ones that do, they're into it, they believe in what they're doing,” said Richard Davis, who is a veteran.
