VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) -- Two women killed in a house fire in Virginia Beach have been identified.

Virginia Beach fire officials tell media outlets that 82-year-old Marcia Varcus and 67-year-old Nancy Basnight were killed Friday night. Two other people in the house were injured.

Two firefighters were treated for leg burns at a hospital and released.

Investigators say the fire started on the first floor of the two-story house. It has been ruled as accidental.

Virginia Beach Fire Department District Chief Mike Barakey says there were smoke alarms in the house. He says investigators don't know whether the alarms were working when the fire began.

A total six people have been killed in fires in Virginia since Friday.
