BRIDGEWATER -- Monday starts Virginia private college week. Private colleges in the Valley hosted potential students to share the benefits.
Bridgewater college was one to participate. The program promotes educational opportunities at the commonwealth's private colleges.
Each student that visits three of the 25 participating colleges in the state will get three application-fee waivers.
Director of Admissions, Jarret Smith says, "students in Virginia are both blessed and cursed with having so many options of universities and colleges in the state. There's large public, small privates, single sex-gender schools, there's a military institute. There's a lot of decisions out there and a lot of choices for students to choose from."
Smith says the big public schools get most of the publicity and this is the week they get to tell their story.
