FISHERSVILLE, Va.-- Volunteers from the Augusta County Fair worked hard before opening the doors on Tuesday.

Organizers expect nearly 30,000 people over a four-day period. About 40 volunteers will help make the event possible.

As of Monday, the carnival was already set up. Workers were fixing the motorcross track for the races.

Fair board member Sonny Balsley said it only takes a few days to set up. However, it takes a while to plan.

"We will start next year's fair before this one is over and then goes on all year long and it takes all year to get it all put together," said Balsley.

The fair runs from Aug. 6-10.
