RICHMOND, Va. (WHSV)-- The Virginia Department of Elections mistakenly told 125,000 registered voters that they're no longer eligible to vote.

The Richmond Times Dispatch reports that people received the letters in error, after moving or updating their address with the Department of Motor Vehicles.

The state told local voter registrars that the letter was an error, and to verify current addresses.
