W&L Students Hold GOP Mock Convention

Washington and Lee University students are holding a mock political convention to predict the 2012 Republican presidential nominee.

The event begins Thursday and runs through Saturday.

Speakers include House Majority Leader Eric Cantor of Virginia, West Virginia Rep. Shelley Moore Capito, Michigan Rep. Thaddeus McCotter, Gov. Bob McDonnell and Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli.

Every four years, Washington and Lee students hold a convention to pick the presidential nominee for the party that's currently not occupying the White House. Students incorrectly picked Hillary Clinton as the 2008 Democratic nominee.
