WAYNESBORO, Va. (WHSV) -- Gary Mawyer, 30, is in custody after an anonymous caller notified the Augusta Emergency Communications Center of his whereabouts.
On Wednesday law enforcement officers from the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office and the Virginia State Police arrested him at an address in Fishersville after he tried to run from them. He was found hiding outside the residence shortly afterwards.
In addition to the Waynesboro charge, Mawyer also faces charges through Augusta County for probation violations and a felony count of possession of methamphetamine stemming from his arrest.
He is being held at Middle River Regional Jail without bond.
