WAYNESBORO, Va. (WHSV) -- A local rapper is getting attention this week. His music video hit YouTube a few days ago and already has more than 6,000 views.

JR Lion siaid he has recorded nearly 500 songs. He has four videos on YouTube by Boiling Water Entertainment, including one released this week, called Country For Life.

Lion doesn't just rap, he also plays several instruments. His lyrics reference country living, with confederate flags and diesel trucks in his music video. He said that music has been his passion since he started at 13 years old and the songs are from his experiences.

"Never let nobody get you down or stop you from your dreams because you can make your dream a reality. That's what's happening for me, like no matter what anybody say, I'll never give up on my music dream," says Lion.

Lion plans to release an album titled Show Time.
