HARRISONBURG, Va – Bob Roberts is a political analyst and professor from James Madison University and he said that this year, it is especially important for people to go vote.
“If you have a friend who needs a ride to the polls, you can tell that friend, your vote really counts, let's go. The races are that tight,” said Roberts.
Virginia is one of the key battleground states in the country. Mitt Romney needs Virginia to win the presidency while President Barack Obama could win Ohio and still win.
A thousand votes could be all that separates the two candidates in Virginia on Tuesday night and that comes down to about just one vote difference in each precinct.
Polling places are expected to be busy on Tuesday. Usually peak times are early in the morning or after 4 p.m. when most people are getting off work.
The polls in Virginia open at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. In West Virginia, polls are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
