Ladd Elementary School is closed this school year and the students have been split up among other elementary schools.
One of those schools is Wilson Elementary, where students have been back in school since Monday.
It was quite the difference for staff and students at Wilson Elementary.
Last year the school held about 450 students while this year the number is almost 700.
Twenty new teachers and staff have been added to handle the large amount of students.
Recent renovations to Wilson Elementary allowed the building to hold the extra people.
According to the school's principal the transition has been a smooth one so far.
"Its still new so there are still some wrinkles that we need to work out but its exciting for them to be able to explore the building, the classrooms. We've taken them on scavenger hunts and they're learning and exploring new spaces," says Wilson Elementary Principal, Patty Black.
One concern was the amount of students in each classroom.
The extra rooms and teachers at Wilson Elementary have kept the class size low.
