AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) -- Wilson Memorial High School received a $1,000 grant on Thursday morning.
It was provided by Project 3, which is a partnership involving WHSV, local businesses, and area schools.
Pepsi Bottling Company of Central Virginia made the donation, and chose the winner.
The grant will go towards paying for a translator pen.
"It's used to help students who have difficulty reading grade-level materials. They take the pen and they scan the written word on the text and through the earbuds attached to the pen the written word will then be read to them aloud," said Sarah Miller, a Wilson Memorial High School Special Education teacher.
