Woman Accused of Killing Two Year Old in Winchester

A woman accused of setting fire to a house in Winchester which killed a two year old in the process last June goes to a jury trial Monday.

Winchester, VA -- A woman accused of setting fire to a house in Winchester which killed a two year old in the process last June goes to a jury trial Monday.

A Winchester Grand Jury indicted 34-year-old Sherry Lee Cruz, last fall on a first-degree murder charge and an arson charge.

Investigators were able to determine that she started the fire that placed all of her children in danger and claimed the life of the two year old.

A conviction for first-degree murder carries a sentence of up to life in prison, and we'll be bringing you updates from that trial when it kicks off Monday morning.
