AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) -- An Amherst woman is in jail Tuesday after being charged with seven counts related to identity theft.

The Augusta County Sheriff's Office arrested Melyssa Fiegenschue, 40, on Monday.

She stole a friend's identity, opened a credit card and then racked up $12,000 in charges on the card, according to the sheriff's office.
