Update: Woman Killed In Accident Identified

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) -- Virginia State Police have identified Doyean Ki, 21, as the woman who died Wednesday night after being hit by a 1999 Jeep Cherokee. It all happened at approximately 10:10 p.m.

She was walking north along the southbound lanes of Route 42 when she was struck by the vehicle traveling north.

Ki was an international student planning to register at Eastern Mennonite University next week.

She was a native of South Korea and went by the name Rachel.

At this time there are no charges and the crash is still under investigation.

According to the Director of Marketing and Communications with the Eastern Mennonite University she was going to register at the university next week as an international student, enrolling in there intensive english program to improve her english speaking skills.

EMU has expressed their condolonces to the family for their loss.
