Police say a 51-year-old woman was shot around 11:30 Monday night during a home invasion.

It happened on the 300 block of N. Delphine Avenue.

The victim says she was in the bathroom when she heard the sound of her front door being kicked. She says she opened the bathroom door to investigate, and saw a large muscular man with his face covered.

The man confronted her so she shut the door and struggled to keep it shut so he couldn't get into the room. The suspect shot through the door during the struggle, shooting the victim twice in the arm.

The victim is in stable condition and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police do not know who the suspect is at this time. If you have any information, please call the Waynesboro Police Department at 540-942-6675.
