STAUNTON, Va. (WHSV)-- Parents and kids today say using the inexpensive app could come with other costs.
If it's Mom, you might want to pick up, especially if she has the 'Ignore No More' app.
"I think the parents would enjoy that. I don't think many teens our age would enjoy that," said Slater Rice, a high school junior.
Here's how the app works: parents download the app and set up an account. If you can't get your kids to answer your calls you can lock their phone.
Some parents I talked to today say the app could be a good tool to help control the technology kids use. Others say they don't need it.
"I know with my own children, with the relationship that I have with them, I just don't feel that it would be necessary. I'd rather not impose something like that on them, because when I need to get in touch with them, they're good at responding," said Susan Berigan, a mom.
Teens can see why parents might want the app...after all, the power can be yours for less than two dollars. Rice says a little trust, goes a long way.
"Teen perspective, they're getting out in the world, they don't want their parents calling them every five minutes when they're doing stuff,' said Rice, 'I think you should just have the common courtesy to answer the phone when your parents call."
Those are probably wise words for most of us, at any age.
Kids, if you have an Iphone, you've lucked out...for now, at least.
Right now, the app is available only on Android phones.
