FISHERSVILLE, Va. (WHSV)-- Many kids were able to pick out their new school outfits at Love Inc. in Fishersville on Aug. 16. The clothes were donated to the ministry from people around the community.
In addition to a new outfit, children got to pick out a new pair of shoes and a book bag. This opportunity is a part of the ministry's 'Love Your Neighbor Service Day'.
Many families say they're grateful to get help.
"It's expensive to send them to school. Especially if they only have one parent or if one parent is working. So, it's really tough," said Pat Marshall, who received school clothes for her kids.
"I didn't think there was anyone that cared and now I see that these people here jumping in whole heartedly, not really knowing who I am, just knowing my situation and willing to help me," said Wendy Seekford, who also received clothes for her kids.
The ministry gave clothes to over 100 kids, and they plan to hold the event again next year.
If you wish to donate gently used clothes, call (540) 221-2955, or visit the ministry at loveincsaw.org.
