WAYNESBORO,Va. (WHSV)-- Waynesboro police have collected evidence looking into whether a reaction to prescription medication played a role in the workplace shooting at F.R. Drake in February. This was a major question that came up when Wiseman was in court late last month.

Boyd Wiseman is charged with murder in the death of his coworker, Jeffrey Earhart.

According to an affidavit for a search warrant, Wiseman told police he shot Earhart "and didn't know why."

The two worked together at F.R. Drake. The warrant shows police have collected Wiseman's blood sugar monitoring device as evidence to see what effect his diabetes and medication might have had on his mental status.

Wiseman's attorney has asked for a report from a doctor about whether Wiseman's prescription drugs might have left him involuntarily intoxicated and unaware of his actions.

Online court records show Wiseman will be back in court on Sept. 8.
