Rodney Landers is back in football.

The new Richmond Revolution of the Indoor Football League announced Tuesday that it has signed the former James Madison quarterback for the 2010 season.

Landers graduated from JMU last season after being named Colonial Athletic Association Offensive Player of the Year and winning the Dudley Award, given to the best Division I football player in Virginia, as a senior.

Landers led the Dukes to the top overall seed in the 2008 FCS playoffs, but suffered an ankle injury in the team's semifinal loss at home to Montana.

After going undrafted last spring, Landers participated in a rookie tryout camp with the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but didn't get a contract offer.

The year 2010 marks the inaugural season for the Revolution.
